This policy explains what information TakeBigFive ("we", "us") handles when you use takebigfive.com, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You don't need an account or an email address to take the test.
- Your answers are scored in your browser and are not sent to our servers.
- We use cookie-free, privacy-friendly analytics to count visits and basic events.
- We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.
Test answers and results
When you take the test, your answers and the time spent on each statement are stored in your browser's local storage so you can pause and continue. Your scores are calculated on your device. Your result page link contains your five trait scores so you can revisit or share it. Anyone with the link can see those scores, so share it only with people you choose. You can clear the saved data from your device using the button on your result page, or by clearing your browser's site data.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example how many people start and finish the test. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. We record a few anonymous events, such as "test completed" with the resulting personality type, but not your individual answers.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We don't use this information to identify you.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to handle your request.
Children
The test is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. Because we don't store test answers on our servers, most data related to the test exists only on your own device. For any privacy request, contact hello@takebigfive.com.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, for example by adding optional accounts or paid reports, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
